XC This Week..

Hi runners and ‘rents! This week we will have morning practice on Mon. and Fri.! Wed. am practice is not on as Wed. pm is the annual Chine Drive Invitational Meet!  Any athletes not attending Chine are encouraged to safely train with a family member… try going to run hills at Birchmount! Try cross-training – swimming, biking, soccer, etc!

Re: Chine Drive – what to expect? I have registered 65 runners for the event. I will post race times here in this blog and on the entry door.

DRIVES: Please be organized with personal car-pooling! Parking is an issue – so carpooling is a great idea. Any car who takes runners who aren’t their own must fill out a ‘Permission to Drive’ form – I will leave some outside the office and will have some on hand at morning practice.

JERSEYS: Athletes are required to run in a school jersey or their own personal jersey.  Any athlete who needs a jersey will be able to sign one out with Mr. Knight. Please listen for announcements about this.  If you wish to purchase a personalized jersey – pls. see the school blog for the link.

NIGHT BEFORE: eat pasta, run fasta… ha ha – learn what you need for your body! Some young runners need a bit more salt to avoid cramps… some need no milk the morning of a race…. I always love to see healthy snacks and lots of water.

BRING: Courcelette jersey, water, running shoes, snacks, sunscreen, layers and a great attitude.
